Best Ever Chocolate Cake Recipe

Chocolate Cupcakes


185g Softened butter
330g Caster sugar
2 Teaspoons vanilla extract
3 Eggs, beaten
75g Self-raising flour
225g Plain flour
1 1/2 Teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
80g Cocoa powder
280ml Milk
100g Chocolate chips


Heat the oven to 180c
Beat the sugar and butter together well. Slowly add the eggs and then the vanilla extract. Combine all the dry ingredients then mix in slowly to the sugar, butter and eggs mixture, adding the milk in alternately. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips. Bake for around 20 minutes or until a clean skewer inserted comes out clean.
You can use a chocolate buttercream, ganache or fudge filling. Chocolate heaven!

This amount of mixture will give around 18 cupcakes or 12 large chocolate muffins.

This recipe makes the best chocolate cake ever and can be used for small cakes, larger cakes or cupcakes. It is moist but also holds it’s shape so is good for decorating too.
This quantity will also give an 8″ round cake – Bake for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
